Education
UNESCO Associated Schools Project (ASPnet) was launched in the Republic of Bashkortostan in 2000. Since then 21 educational institutions of the Republic have been awarded UNESCO Associated Schools Certificate: Republican Economic Lyceum (boarding school), Republican Art Gymnasium (boarding school) named after K. Davletkildeyev; Ufa city schools: Private Secondary School «Alpha», Gymnasium 3, Lyceum 5, Secondary School 32, Secondary School 34, Gymnasium 39, Secondary School 45, Secondary School 131, Bashkir Secondary School 140, Bashkir Primary School 144, Secondary School 155, Ufa Arts School named after Vladimir Komarov and other. 20 more schools in the Republic of Bashkortostan participate in this project.
School children of the Republic of Bashkortostan participate in numerous UNESCO and UNEP projects by taking part in ethnic culture festivals, UNESCO days and forums, exhibitions, tournaments, oratory contests, events and conferences, presentations of school projects on United Nations and UNESCO topics, the international educational projects: «Education for All», «World Cultural Heritage», «Mondialogo», UNESCO international ecological projects: «Tunza», «Volvo Adventure».
The international cultural, social and educational projects «Creative competence in European context» are being realized within the terms of the agreement on friendship and cooperation between UNESCO Bashkortostan Committee and the German association «West – East», Baden-Württemberg.
The National Board of UNESCO Associated Schools of Russian Federation took place in Ufa in 2008.
