On February 22 this year, the center of culture and leisure of village Zilair became the main venue for the all-Russian festival “Culture of Indigenous Peoples of the World” dedicated to the International Year of Indigenous Languages under the auspices of the UN and UNESCO with the participation of UNESCO Associated Schools, UNESCO Chairs, UNESCO Friends Clubs and other educational institutions with the support of the Committee of the Republic of Bashkortostan for UNESCO and the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Bashkortostan.
The purpose of the festival is to promote the development of an informational cultural environment aimed at stimulating the interest of students of educational institutions to the problems of preserving and developing native languages and indigenous languages, the epic heritage and traditional culture in the modern world.
The festival was attended by the Head of the Administration of Zilair District I.L.Fatkullin, the main specialist of the department of national education, regional cooperation and educational book publishing of the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Bashkortostan G.Yu.Usmanova, the chief specialist of the Committee of the Republic of Bashkortostan for UNESCO, Regional Coordinator of the UNESCO Associated Schools Network in the Bashkortostan Region L.M.Boguslavskaya, Acting Executive Secretary of the Committee of the Republic of Bashkortostan for UNESCO U. Z.Yumaguzin, deputy director for teaching and educational work of the V.M. Komarov Palace of Children's Art of Ufa S.P.Samoylova, students of preschool educational organizations, students of the Associated Schools of UNESCO and Friends Clubs of UNESCO, university students of the Republic of Bashkortostan and regions of the Russian Federation.
Guests of the festival were greeted by a rich exhibition of national dishes in the hallway of the Center for Culture and Leisure. Representatives of different countries demonstrated the knowledge of their native cuisine and showed folk art.
During the festival, speakers presented the traditions and cultural values of 24 countries of the world such as Russia, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Mordovia, Uzbekistan, Georgia, Azerbaijan, Greece, Turkey, Egypt and others, as well as cultural values of the Russian regions.
All educational institutions of Zilair District took part in the festival: 12 schools and 8 kindergartens. More than 50 applications were accepted for participation of the festival from the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia), Moscow, Rostov-on-Don, Simferopol, Saratov, Irkutsk region, Kazan, Abakan Republic of Khakassia, Kizlyar village, Mozdok district (Alania), Kamensk-Uralsky, Sverdlovsk Region, Magnitogorsk, Bratsk, Pyatigorsk, Tyumen, as well as other cities and districts of the Russian Federation.
In conclusion, the participants, team leaders and organizers were awarded diplomas and letters of appreciation.
Summing up the festival, the head of Zilair District Administration I.L.Fatkullin thanked the participants of the festival for their original performances and expressed gratitude for the support provided to the implementation of projects and programs in Zilair District to the Committee of the Republic of Bashkortostan for UNESCO.
