The Walt Disney Company announced that it would distribute the Russian military drama "Little Sister", and marked the release date. This was reported by the Mustai Karim Foundation.
The premiere of the film by director Alexander Galibin will be held on September 19, 2019. The picture will be released on the eve of the 100th anniversary of the birth of the national poet of Bashkortostan Mustai Karim, whose story “The Joy of Our Home” formed the basis of the script for the film.
The lead parts in the “Little Sister” film were played by 7-year-old Arslan Krymchurin and 9-year-old Martha Timofeeva. The military drama was filmed with the financial support of the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation. The Mustai Karim Foundation took part in the filming.
The shooting took place in the village of Novokhasanovo 180 km from Ufa. Especially for the project decorators rebuilt replicas of houses of the 40-s. The "Little Sister" was filmed in Bashkir, Ukrainian, and Russian.
Special screenings of the film took place in St. Petersburg at the festival “Viva Cinema of Russia!”, in Ples at the Andrey Tarkovsky Festival “Zerkalo”, in Magadan at the “Territory” festival, in Svetlogorsk at the “Baltic Debuts” festival, in Yalta at the “Scarlet Sails of Artek” festival, in Tuapse at the All-Russian Festival of Visual Arts.
