Relics of cavalry of the 112th Bashkir cavalry division (16th Guards cavalry division) found at the place of their death on the territory of the Luhansk Republic were brought to Ufa.
The head of the Salavat Yulaev search group of Alchevsk and Lugansk Military-Historical Association "Memory of Donbass" Flur Karachurin and ataman of the Catherine Slobozhan Cossack regiment Alexander Trembach visited the Republican Museum of Military Glory and the Museum of the 112th Bashkir cavalry division and told about the work carried out to identify the unknown military graves, find out the names of the dead members of the division in the territory of Luhansk. The visit of representatives of the search party and the Cossack regiment was organized in the framework of the preparation and holding of commemorative events dedicated to the 120th anniversary of the birth of the commander of Bashkir cavalry division Minigali Shaimuratov.
The guests donated to the museums the relics of Bashkir horsemen, found in July 2019 by search teams in the village of Shterovka, where in February 1943 there were battles between German troops and parts of the red Army, including with the participation of the 112th Bashkir cavalry division. The bit, horseshoe and the butt of the axe-cleaver were found in the burial place of the remains of the dead cavalrymen and their horses. In addition, other attributes of horse cavalry and samples of anthracite (coal) from the gallery located near the village of Shterovka, where at the time of fierce battles of 1943 along the railway "Voroshilovsk — Debaltsevo — Shterovka" the cavalry of the division found shelter, were transferred to the Museum funds.
For Museum guests were conducted sightseeing tours of the exhibition halls and the Victory Park.
