The meeting was held online and was timed to coincide with the third anniversary of the founding of the International Assembly of Eurasian Peoples' Non-Governmental Organizations. During the conference, the results of the Assembly's activities over three years were summed up. The participants of the event noted the importance of a large Eurasian partnership of peoples on the basis of spiritual and moral principles, in the name of establishing peace and harmony, through the development of multilateral cooperation and public (people's) diplomacy. It is precisely these tasks that the Assembly of the Peoples of Eurasia is called upon to solve.
Assembly Secretary General Andrei Belyaninov noted that over the three years of its existence, the Assembly has expanded the circle of partners, and today representatives of more than 40 countries are members of the Assembly. The program of activities of the Eurasian Peoples' Assembly includes various international projects and activities implemented in different countries of Greater Eurasia.
First Deputy Secretary General - Head of the General Secretariat of the Eurasian Peoples' Assembly Svetlana Smirnova cited a number of successful Assembly programs and projects as an example: Children of Eurasia, Youth Assembly of Eurasian Peoples. Today, the representative offices of the Assembly are already operating in five regions of Russia: the Leningrad, Kaluga, Sverdlovsk regions, the city of Sevastopol, the Republic of Bashkortostan. In addition to developing projects and representative offices, the Assembly plans to organize the annual World Public Summit.
Separately, during the meeting, the Assembly noted a warm partnership with the leadership of the Republic of Bashkortostan. On May 24, 2019, the Cooperation Agreement was signed between the Assembly and the Government of the Republic of Bashkortostan, and on January 31, 2020, the Representative Office of the Eurasian Peoples' Assembly in the Republic of Bashkortostan was formed in the republic. In particular, Bashkortostan will become a venue for the Eurasian Games. As the President of the RATM Holding of the Novosibirsk Regional Football Federation Eduard Taran noted in his speech, the Eurasian Games are an important project and, in fact, the largest sports competition in Europe. In 2019, the organizers did a great job, finalized the project idea, and searched for partners. Since the beginning of this year, negotiations on the event have been successfully held at the level of the Government of the Republic of Bashkortostan, the Ministry of Youth Policy and Sports of the Republic. Eduard Taran emphasized that the Eurasiad project is well received not only by athletes, but also by the authorities of different countries.
Reference. The representative office of the Eurasian Peoples' Assembly in the Republic of Bashkortostan is engaged in international promotion of the region in the countries of Greater Eurasia; holds charity events, carries out cultural, educational, research and publishing activities. The first vice-premier of the government Andrey Nazarov leads the representative office of the Assembly of Eurasian Peoples in the Republic of Bashkortostan.
