In Ufa, the location and the date of the spring equinox Nowruz determined

The holiday of spring equinox Nowruz will take place in Ufa’s Yakutov Park on April 4, 2021. The meeting with 12 ethnic and cultural centers of Bashkortostan was on Friday in the House of Friendship of the Peoples of the Republic of Bashkortostan. The date of Nowruz was changed this year because of the weather, according to the press service of the House of Friendship of Peoples.

Nowruz is one of the oldest holidays of many nations, which has a connection with the day of spring equinox. The first regional holiday Nowruz took place in Bashkortostan in 2001. Since then, for almost 20 years, the holiday has been held in Ufa every year. The event is usually organized by the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Bashkortostan, the Republican House of Friendship of Peoples, the Assembly of Peoples of the Republic of Bashkortostan and ethnic-cultural public associations of the region. The main purposes of Nowruz are to save folk traditions and unite region’s ethnicities.
